VFXShader terms and privacy

The demo
The demo on this site is free to use, with no account. It has a finished scene and a selection of the full app's shaders, for you to try. It does not export anything.
The VFXShader application, its shaders and its code belong to Gruffazilla. You may use the demo at this address; you may not copy, host or resell it, or take its shaders out of it for use elsewhere.
The full app
The full app at vfxshader.com/studio/ is a subscription: $9 a month, or $39 a year at the founder's price. It is sold through Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the seller: it takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT and sends the receipts. Your subscription renews until you cancel it. Cancel any time with Manage Subscription in the app; the app stays open to the end of the time already paid for.
The founder's price is for the first 20 subscribers to it. It stays $39 a year for as long as that subscription continues; a subscription that ends and is started again pays the price of the day.
Refunds. If VFXShader isn't for you, email support@vfxshader.com within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full. Renewals aren't refunded, but you can cancel at any time and the app stays open to the end of the time paid for. Billing mistakes, such as a double charge, are always refunded. A refunded founder spot is not reopened.
What you export from the app may be used in your own projects, including commercial ones, and shipped as part of them. You may not resell or redistribute exports on their own, for example as a shader pack or asset-store listing. The app, its shaders and its code belong to Gruffazilla: you may not copy, host or resell them.
Privacy
The demo. There are no accounts. Presets, the stack you are working on and your settings are stored in your own browser and are not sent to us. Images you load stay on your device.
The email sign-up. If you leave your email address, we keep the address and the date (and, for sign-ups made before 23 October 2026, the choice the form offered then). We use it to send news about VFXShader now and then, such as new engines and effects. We do not use it for anything else and do not share or sell it. The list is kept on this site's hosting.
To stop automated sign-ups, the form counts recent sign-ups by network address. The address is kept only in a scrambled form that cannot be read back, and is dropped after an hour.
Every email we send ends with an unsubscribe link. Following it and pressing Unsubscribe takes you off the list and deletes everything we hold about you: the address, the date and any choice made on the form.
The full app. To sign you in we keep your email address, your Polar customer number, and whether and until when your subscription is active, which Polar tells us. Sign-in links and signed-in browsers are kept only as scrambled codes that cannot be read back. Polar holds your payment details; we never see them. Presets and scenes you make stay in your own browser.
No warranty
The demo and the full app are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. Some effects can flash; the apps warn when settings exceed three flashes a second.
